Ok I get the picture.....

.....it must be time for me to do some OTHER creative stuff, seeing as I am getting the usual number of visitors to the blog, but hardly any comments.

While I gather my creative forces, here's this morning's sunrise. Now I know you're not supposed to take photos when looking at the sun, so just caught the edge of it around the cabbage tree. I am sooooo excited to even have any sun, as we've had grey miserable days for the past week or so, so much that I'm sure I've had SAD as a result. I just don't function well without my sunshine. Cold is ok, I just need to sun to lift my spirits.

And I love the shadow on the living room wall created by my little ponytail palm and my cat clock (seriously, see below) which sit on the TV. I have faux French doors that you can also see the shape of. "Faux" because they're aluminium and not wooden.

Here they are. If you click on the picture to get the fullsize version, you can see the cat and fish on the clock's hands.

Go on, leave me a comment! Pleeeeeasssseeee!!! Pretty please! I know you're out there, all 350 per week of you, sneaking looks at my blog but not saying anything. Tell me what you'd like to see more of!

Oooops - some of those visits are me too - sorry! You're right, it won't kill me to comment. I promise to try to lift my game!

Love these sunset pictures!! I've got a ponytail on my kitchen bench too - love the shapes and shaddows it gives.

I know you two, and you DO leave comments from time to time - it's all the others who never comment that I was really referring to! If you don't have a blog yourself, you can post as "Anonymous" and just put your name at the end of the comment.

So my comment is: "What is a cabbage tree?"
Is this something thrown in to see if we are paying attention or is there really such a thing?

It is indeed known here as a cabbage tree, Nora. It's a native Cordyline australis, and you can see a pic of it here http://www.mokoia-island.com

Much of the tree is edible when young. They can grow pretty tall when mature.

Hi Shirley

That last comment was me. I am a president but not THE president. I have recently set up a blog for our local club, Cotton On Quilters, and I was signed in as administrator to invite a member to become a team author. I forgot what identity I was using.

So you get 2 comments for the price of one!

My problem is that I have WAY to many blogs on my Bloglines and get overwhelmed. I comment on the first few and then run out of steam. You get comments when I start from the bottom but not if I start from the top. Poor people in the middle! There are just too many wonderful quilting and dyeing blogs out there.

I'm a bad, bad blogger. I visit every day & don't comment. :-) Love the sunrise photos. Makes me want to pack up my life & move there.

Ok Shirley. I will, because you asked so nicely(smile)
I didn't know you were not supposed to take a photo when looking into the sun. I would think it OK if you are using a digital camera, because you are not looking directly at it? What do you think?

It's been a rotten few weeks for comments for me too - I wonder what's going on?

I'm LOVING your sky pictures, sweetie!

I read your blog because you always have a lot of interesting pictures on it. I love seeing the countryside, flowers, etc. from other countries that I will never get to visit. Your art is great too. Sorry I have never commented. Wanda

My favourite is the shadows on the wall, such atmosphere. That Kitty clock is the best clock EVER!!
I can relate to what Joyce said about commenting...
