Dyeing up a (woollen) storm

Here's three skeins of baby wool that I dyed this morning to show my friend Sue-Ellen from Lyttelton how I dye it in the microwave. The red/pink skein is to make a chemo cap for someone, and other two (purple and lavender; red and yellow and orange) I dyed just for fun. Posted by Picasa

Great bright colors.

I am afraid if I put anything in my microwave it will be eaten. I have teen age boys.

I'm knitting a chemo cap with the red/pink ball (for someone wwho has lost their hair through chemotherapy - no particular recipient yet) but I'll keep the others in my stash for now.

Shirley, they're gorgeous! I know those will be fun to knit up.

Shirley, I love your vibrant colors. How do you dye using the microwave? My daughter is a fibers major (in her Sophmore year) here in the U.S. and I think she'd be interested in this.
