Blogger is seriously annoying me - I have posted this several times now. The last time I managed to get it published, but it lost the photos. More than once, I have definitely hit "Publish" and it's saved them as Drafts instead. Grrrr!
These photos are from the Tutor's Exhibition. Firstly, part of Gloria Loughman's wonderful (and huge!) quilt that I first saw at New Plymouth in 2001. This is a vibrant and complex quilt, and I don't get tired of looking at it. Then Jane Sassaman's exotic butterflies - again, this is just a part of the whole quilt. Lastly, Priscilla Bianchi's sample quilt for her class on working with striped fabric. A very simple design but it looks wonderful.
I am simply bursting with creative ideas after being at Symposium - I guess it's a result of being around so many creative people. I am not getting inspiration from the other quilters' work, however, but for the particular ways in which I want to work.
So tell me (use the Comments section at the end of this post) - do YOU get inspired like this, by other creative people? Do you make use of that creative energy?

I can't believe that Bolgger has dropped all my photos again! Has anyone else had this problem? I have posted them SIX times.
Hi ya from another part of LOTR country (near Rivendell in fact :) )
In answer to your question - yes I get that creative buzz from other people as well, not just from art & craft but from other things I do / go to, like guide (as in "girl guide") or playcentre trainings. I also get them from new ideas I come across though my tertiary studies. I am one of those people who goes off on tangents and puts disparate ideas together to create, so it all goes into my brain and I never know quite what will come out or in what form.
I actually ended up on your blog from Yarn Harlot. As I was having withdrawal symptoms (been 4 days! *g*) I was re-reading old posts and saw you pop up in one a few weeks ago about felted clogs. Blogs are very addictive - but fit right in with your question as providing a creative spark.
Some others have had problems posting photos. Today I was ok.
I love looking at what others have done and yes I am inspired and my creative juices flow when going to quilt shows and visiting blogs.
Absolutely!! that's my justification fo spending soooo much time (and $$) reading blogs, mags and books and visiting exhibitions and galleries.
As for the photo prob - I don't know if this would help but I upload my pics to Flickr (www.flickr.com) first and then use the URL to upload to blogger. I find it easier as they don't take so long to load.
yes, i have the same problem today, although up till now it has behaved well for weeks! i love going to seminars, trade shows and expos, i am always bursting with fresh ideas and energy to branch out when i get home! often the pressures of the real world can swamp it, take notes so ideas don't get lost in the crush, you can always revisit them later (wise words from one who has not taken her own advise, and lost much momentum!)
