At a standstill....

Here's the cause, and here are the culprits. Early last Monday morning, the dogs bowled me over at speed while we were walking up on Cape Wanbrow. The result was a dislocation and compound fracture of my right ankle. My friend Kathryn has kindly minded my pets, watered the plants and helped out while I was in hospital.

I've had to shelve the quilts I had planned to complete this week as I can't sew. Officially, I'm unable to work for 4 weeks (leg to be elevated for 2 weeks, and no weight-bearing at all for 6 weeks). Sooooooo......this is going to have to be a planning and designing time for me that I hadn't counted on.

Also, I'm going to spend some of this down time knitting.

OH no!!! That's awfull!! I do hope it heals well. 6 weeks gives lots of time for designing, knitting and there;s also hand stitching - I reckon you'll be over it and itching to get back to the machine by the time that cast comes off.

Oh my! Are those naughty woodles that I see? Guess you'll have LOTS of planning time, Shirley! Hope it heals fast and you're back up and dyeing before you know it.

Oh your poor ankle! Hard to believe that those little angels could cause so much trouble. I hope that you are feeling better soon!

I wondered what had happened to you! Take care and cosset yourself.Enjoy the enforced rest and let everyone wait on you. You can always paint fabric with paintstiks if you start getting withdrawal symtoms! Val

I am so sorry to hear of your mishap. I know what it is like because about 18 months ago I was at a quilting conference and fell down a flight of stairs breaking my pelvis and three bones in my foot. So, I had to be completely off my feet for 6 weeks, and then it took me some time to learn to walk and function again. I was very lucky however, and I realized how many wonderful friends I had.

Hope you heal quickly and I will look for news on your blog.
