...sitting on the deck in the Spring sunshine...........watching a dog with a bone. It takes so little to make a dog happy. And while I'm having my coffee.....
...finding an upturned plant pot that makes a perfect cup holder. As I sip my drink, I look around at the wonders of spring growth....
...the orchids starting to flower on the deck. These are hardy Australian Dendrobiums that can take the cold. But not the frosts - no orchids can tolerate frost. Snow, yes, but not frost. Some plants are already in flower....
..the grape hyacinths are doing well in the rock garden out the front ......
...and so is the little Magnolia Stellata, while around the side of the house....
...the dwarf peach tree is in full bloom. And out by the front fence....
...a perfect camellia.
These are things that are giving me serentity at present - what is making YOU feel serene?
PS My apologies to readers only interested in fiber arts - these are on the back burner for now.

We, on the other end of the world, will not be discouraged by your spring!
We have not had our first frost yet but it will come, but first what is most likely summer's last hurrah. 90 degree fahrenheit temperatures "threatened" for the next few days.
I do not coexhist happily with great heat and the idea of fall and cooler days is ever so sweet.
A good frost to kill off the wasps and afternoons on the deck watching the bright yellow leaves on the trembling aspen, and perhaps a glass of my husband's blackberry wine.

Spring has defnitely sprung at your house. I have beautiful daffodils popping up along my driveway, they were planted and abandoned years ago. Sometimes they flower, sometimes they don't! This year they are gorgeous.
Don't apologise, it's lovely to get a glimpse of Spring when we're heading into Autumn after a non-existant Summer ( tho' the weather's currently warmer than it has been for weeks - we abandoned house chores yesterday for a walk along the Thames and a Pub Lunch)
The first Cyclamens have flowered.
Your garden is lovely and Spring weather brings out the best in all creative souls. And poodles gnawing on bones on a Sunday morning is perfect. Enjoy your Spring weather. Here in the desert, it is still around 100, autumn hasn't arrived yet.
My definition of serenity is much the same as yours, except right now I'm enjoying the last really warm day we may have for awhile as we head into autumn.
I would add, gazing out over the lake and listening to the rhythmic lapping of the water against the shore, picking up a little handwork, watching the birds soar overhead. Nature is such a big part of my art these days that being out enjoying it does not necessarily feel like I've put fiberarts on the back burner. Well, maybe because these things certainly simmer in my unconscious waiting for me to pull them out once I'm in the studio.
