I've talked before about the international Round Robin I'm doing. This fabric was dyed by the first person, then the second person put a resist over it and painted it with black in the cracks. I have stamped it with metallic paints using a sun stamp, then hand-painted green squiggles and black arches and some more black shading. Now it looks to me like a floral print with frigging daisies on it, which is NOT what I intended. (Actually I had no intentions at all, I just go with the flow when I have a paintbrush in my hand. )
The big question is : have I improved it? Does it look like an interesting piece of complex cloth? (OK, that's 2 questions). Or like something you'd get at the Bargain Bin at the local quilt shop? (OK, OK, that's 3!!!).

I really like the looks of it, but I am a fan of daisies. I also like the colors of it so for me it's not bargain bin at all.
LOL bargin bin...NO it is lovely!
It doesnt look like daisys to me but rather something along the lines of an Indian sari. This looks complex and interesting both.
I think it's a stunning piece. I'd pay plenty for it and quilt it up as a whole cloth with some metallic threads.
I think the shapes look like daisies too, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I like how it turned out.
Where's the problem?
It's definitely a very nice piece.
I love it - looks very Indian and complex! fantastic
It does look Indian, and what a great idea to do a round robin in surface design...think I'll suggest that to my mini-group!
Well actually, if your kids think you are an overgrown hippy, then this must be very 'you' because the first thing I thought when I saw it was "oooh, this is something Janis Joplin would have looked great in!"
I love it (but then i'm also an overgrown hippy, so take it from whence it comes!) Love the colours of the previous day's wool too. I'd love to see it made up into something.
ok, can you tell its been a long day? I saw the wool but didn't scroll down, so cancel that last tranmission, it looks GREAT made up into something, surprisingly subtle in a bright kind of way.
I agree, between the colors and patterns, it does remind me of an Indian fabric. Remember, it's not the fabric, but what you do with it in the end!
