An easy way to lose weight.......

I can now confess that's a bit less of me. Yes, while it's too early to trumpet this as a permanent thing, I have managed to shed around 4 kg (that's 8 or 9 pounds for non-metric readers) in the past month simply by changing how I'm eating. Like many women, I've struggled with my weight since having children, and had ended up accepting that I was always going to be a certain size. While I didn't shop at "Big Girls" shops, I was the largest standard clothing size. I had a "summer" weight, and a "winter" weight, which changed according to how much walking I did, but events over the past year or so (pulled hamstring, followed by inflammation of my foot tendon) meant that I was now "winter" weight in summer.

I'm aiming to drop a clothing size which is quite ambitious coming into winter as we are here, but remember, I have NOT done any exercise to achieve this weight loss - I can still only hobble around, and was totally inactive for 3 months. It's the change in how I'm eating that has worked.

If you're interested in finding out more and trying this for yourself, please record a comment. If there's enough interest, I'll share my experiences with my readers.

I would like to lose half a stone Shirley. I put on weight during my holiday, but find that if I do something immediately it goes fairly quickly. I would be interested in hearing how you managed it.

I too would be keen to hear your secrets. I have been doing very well on weight watchers and have lost 16kg over the past 16 weeks (with alot more to go I must add) but I am always keen to hear other peoples hints to make it easier. I have a couple of tips also if you need a couple of extras. If you are a person who nibbles while preparing or clearing away dinner, try either chewing gum while doing it or go brush your teeth prior to entering the kitchen, with the toothpaste taste in your mouth you aren't tempted to nibble. REMEMBER LITTLE PICKERS WEAR BIG NICKERS

This is always an interesting subject! How nice for you that you've lost some weight when you haven't been able to exercise.

Most systems will work to take the weight off -- portion control, low carb, etc. But what I have problem with is sticking with it. Why can't we allow ourselves to have what we want -- less weight, more energy. When I hear someone say something to the effect that losing the weight feels better than [insert a favorite food] tasts, I know that's true because I've said it myself!! Now why can't I allow myself to get there again???
