This is my lovely daughter Sophie. Of course, she doesn't look like that at present as she is always changing her hair. This is so she can mock me for not recognising her at the airport. I don't think she currently has all those stripes. Hopefully she'll be coming down the stay with me later this month. It's harder to do that now I've moved to Oamaru, as she never fails to remind me.
Here is the start of a cardigan I'm knitting her. It's called Sonnet, from knitty.com, and is knitted sideways. I think it's a great pattern and it's fun to knit. The colour is deep forest green (she didn't want any of that multicoloured yarn).

What a beauty she is.
I've taken note of that Sonnet jacket
Sophie is indeed lovely, and so is the knitting. But what we really want to know is...what are you calling the quilt!!!!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to call it "Tree of Life"
Good name. zI think it really suits the quilt.
I had to laugh when I read your not recognizing your daughter in the airport comment. When I flew my daughter and her boyfriend -1st ever whom I'd never met - out to join the family for vacation I waited forever in the terminal. I finally saw a boy that looked at me, I looked at him, I was sure he was "the boyfriend" but who was that girl he was with?! Seh wasn't as amused as he was.
She is a lovely girl, and that changing appearance thing is something they all go through. For a while, I never knew what color my SON's hair was going to be, whether he would have a beard or not etc.
Love the "Tree of Life" quilt, it is truly beautiful. Jen
mum that photo is about 4 years old! My hair has been brown for about 3 years!
