Back home again...
...and you didn't even realise I'd been away. I've spent a long weekend in Wanaka in Central Otago, almost 4 hours' drive inland from the coast where I live. It's hot in summer -grapes and stone fruit are grown here; cold in winter - the main ski fields of New Zealand are here; very beautiful, and as expensive as Auckland. Dammit. I love the scenery in Central.
This is the view from the cottage that I rented. The land goes right down to the Hawea River. Not a river for swimming in.
The dogs outside the cottage at sunrise.
This is at Clyde, above where the dam is. A whole valley was flooded to allow the Clyde dam to operate.
The last shot was one of many I took while driving - you can see that traffic isn't a problem here, so it wasn't unsafe.

It looks very beautiful there. Next time we go to visit our DD in Australia we hope to make a stopover in NZ. The more I see of it, the more I want to see it.
Wow! That is absolutely beautiful, just makes me want to go to NZ even more!
Those pictures are wonderful. I'll bet the real thing is even better. Looks like a fun trip.
looks wonderful, I love the variety you have in your scenery there. If you ever go to the hotsprings, or Rotorua, please INUNDATE us with PIX! Since we are unlikely to be able to afford to travel there any time soon, it is so cool being able to travel through fellow bloggers posts!
Great photos! It was nice you were able to the furry kids with you.

My embellisher? I bought a Babylock - I got a very good deal here in Sweden and bought the demonstrator from the shop - it was the same price as the Janome so thought i did well!
