Behind the scenes

You may be forgiven for thinking that I'm not doing anything creative. I am, but I just haven't been showing it. I actually have a couple of pieces of partly completed knitting (a top-down cardigan and a curved scarf) but neither look very good partially made so I'm waiting till they're finished to photograph them. The cardigan in particular, being knitted all in one piece, just looks like a huge pile of nothing in particular. At present, I'm working on these:

The red one is quite hard to show - it has a diamond pattern done in purl stitches. These are both made in fine merino and are destined for my mother. I made her some for Mothers' Day and she wears them a lot as she has arthritis in her hands, so I decided I would make her some more.

When I'm not knitting, I'm doing more on the Travellers' Blanket.

One thing that all my work is featuring - bits of poodle hair. While poodles don't shed like most dogs, they DO lose fine wispy bits when their coats are very long. Not for much longer, as they're booked in to be pruned next week. I hope the worst of the bad weather is over, as they're going to take some adjusting.
