You may be forgiven for thinking that I'm not doing anything creative. I am, but I just haven't been showing it. I actually have a couple of pieces of partly completed knitting (a top-down cardigan and a curved scarf) but neither look very good partially made so I'm waiting till they're finished to photograph them. The cardigan in particular, being knitted all in one piece, just looks like a huge pile of nothing in particular. At present, I'm working on these:
The red one is quite hard to show - it has a diamond pattern done in purl stitches. These are both made in fine merino and are destined for my mother. I made her some for Mothers' Day and she wears them a lot as she has arthritis in her hands, so I decided I would make her some more.
When I'm not knitting, I'm doing more on the Travellers' Blanket.
One thing that all my work is featuring - bits of poodle hair. While poodles don't shed like most dogs, they DO lose fine wispy bits when their coats are very long. Not for much longer, as they're booked in to be pruned next week. I hope the worst of the bad weather is over, as they're going to take some adjusting.

Hiolidays
Yes, it's holiday time again, and I have 2 weeks off before Term 4 kicks in. I have had a lot going on in the past few weeks - the Rangiora house has sold at last - after a year - and I've bought a little house here in Invercargill. I'll be moving around the middle of October and I can't wait to get back into a home of my own - I really don't enjoy renting. There'll be more space for me and the dogs, and as I'm only moving to the next street, I can still walk to classes and take the dogs on the walkways alongside the river.
Here's some more spring photographs to brighten your day - especially if you're heading towards winter.
This is the Phalenopsis orchid that I have growing in my kitchen- usually they require a lot more heat than this, as the room is unheated overnight and during the day in winter when I'm not there. Not a large flower, but there are 7 of them, and they last well. The rest of the photos were taken on a foray to nearby Queen's Park yesterday.

Spring is sprung!
Yes, spring is definitely here and the days are noticeably longer. My house in Rangiora has sold, and will settle in another 6 weeks. I'm in the process of buying a little house down here in Invercargill, but that's not going to confirm till the end of this week. I didn't time it very well as this is the last week of term and I'm up to my eyebrows in assignments. The Art History essay is finished, but I'm still working on the website that I'm creating for Web & Graphic Design.
Here's some spring photos:
And just for fun - the Gala t fountains after some prankster had put detergent in them.
