Nearly the end of year 1

This is the penultimate week of my first year of my Arts degree.  Hard to believe that the year has gone so quickly.  My focus at present is just to get all my assignments up to standard and submitted.  One of my papers is Photography, so here are  a few shots that I've taken this term :
This is Cressy, and I submitted this photo for the "Blur" assignment (9/10)
This photo of classmate Ben was submitted for "Colour Portrait" (9/10)...

...and this one of classmate Emma was for "B&W Portrait" (8.5/10)

This is my latest photo, a black and white landscape.  No mark yet.  I took this at around 7.30am on Saturday, inbetween the hail and sleet showers.

I like the last one the best, but all are great. Do they ever give a 10/10? I would.Up here busy as usual, getting some quilting done early a.m.'s before the rest of the family are up.Do you have plans for the holidays? Christmas? and what will you choose as the favourite out of all the subjects?Cheers from Jean.

Black and white photography is such an overlooked option. Your landscape is stunning. Since you know what the real landscape looked like, which do you think gives the stronger image, b & W or color?

Yay for you Shirley! I'm working on my final assignment at the moment, due on Monday, but I'm getting restless and couldn't resist a peek at a couple of blogs. Since Monday I've been saying to my husband "This time next week I will have finished my course". Of course, I'll have only finished my first two subjects, not a whole year like you - LOL.

Yes, there have been a few 10s, Jean, but I'm happy with my marks as I struggled to learn not just new manual techniques but also a new camera.

I like this photo better in B&W than in colour, Beauty. I enhanced the contrast through iPhoto but didn't Photoshop it at all.

Beautiful photos, particularly the drama and contrasts of the seascape.
One year of art studies down and a house move, I admire your stamina.
