...as we should all do on a regular basis. Today, I'm enjoying these things:
This lovely needlecase from Annica in Sweden, which she has sent me as part of the PIF (Pay It Forward) that we were doing recently. It's like random acts of kindness, only with us, we made something by hand and sent it to other crafty bloggers. This is felt on the outside, with hand embroidery and threads as ties.
Inside, it's fabric with a pocket on each side. I could keep my business cards in this, Annica - it's gorgeous!
And here are some lovely yellow roses from my garden. I grow mainly David Austen and old-fashioned roses as I love the multi-layered look of the flowers, but mainly I love the scent!
This one is Aotearoa (the Maori name for New Zealand). It's a modern hybrid tea, but I always like to have one in my garden because, unlike many modern roses, it has a stunning scent.

SWOOOOOOOOOOOOON! Both for the lovely work in the PIF and your gorgeous roses!
Glad you liked the needle case, Shirley!
Your roses are beautiful! It doesn't matter how hard we try. Mother Nature is the best designer. :-)
Just read on KQ that you are not buying into Christmas this year.Funny..I posted a similar thing on my blog a few days ago. I do the tree and a few other things but the whole buying too much food, spending too much on things people don't want etc I am not getting into. I did this last year to and it was one of the best Christmas' I had....
Anyway roses look gorgeous...in a drought here so gave up trying to go roses...I miss mine from NZ....
Regards
Pam
Beautiful roses Shirley and it looks like a beautiful lace cloth on your table too.
Oh Yes, I love David Austin roses too. I think that is Graham Thomas on the right in the photo, the very yellow one...what are the other 2 ?
wow, are these ones you just planted when you moved in? You MUST have green fingers!
David Austin roses are just the best, wherever in the world they grow. My last flower of last summer has only just faded here in the damp and dreary UK. Lovely to see yours in their summer beauty.
I think the bright yellow one (which was mislabelled) may be Golden Celebration, Ali, as it's a small bush - Graham Thomas is quite similar but a very large vigorous plant. The other one on the left is Jude The Obscure, which has a beautiful fruity scent.
